The Pix.e combined skin resurfacing with microneedling process begins with a consultation to assess your skin's needs. During the treatment, the Pix.e machine uses laser energy to create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface. This stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, improving the skin’s texture and appearance. After this step, the microneedling process is performed, which involves using tiny needles to create micro-channels in the skin, allowing deeper penetration of nutrients and promoting further collagen production.

The treatment takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the area being treated. It is followed by Erbium treatment, which enhances the resurfacing effects. Unlike some other treatments, this procedure is not minimal discomfort—patients may experience moderate discomfort during and after the session.

There is significant downtime of 5 to 7 days as the skin heals and rejuvenates. Some redness or swelling may occur initially, but results gradually improve over multiple sessions. Typically, 3 to 6 sessions are recommended for optimal results, spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart.

Aftercare & Results

Following the treatment, mild redness (erythema) is expected and may last from a few hours to several days. Many patients experience a mild sunburn sensation, which can cause some discomfort. To minimize irritation, an ice pack (not direct ice) can be applied, and a cooling lotion or soothing gel is recommended after Erbium Yag treatment. Protecting the skin from environmental factors is crucial, so a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 should be used daily.

A few days after the procedure, patients will notice mild peeling, similar to the effects of sunburn. It is essential not to pick at the peeling skin, as this can lead to scarring. Instead, follow a gentle skincare routine, cleansing with a mild cleanser and applying a moisturizer multiple times a day to keep the skin hydrated. Avoid chlorine, hot tubs, and swimming pools during recovery, as well as exfoliants, loofah sponges, and aggressive scrubbing. Tiny scabs may develop 24-72 hours post-treatment and should not be scratched, even if they itch. To reduce redness, a hydrocortisone cream may be applied 3-4 times daily after 12 hours. Swelling may persist for 1-3 days, and an ice pack can be used in 15-minute sessions several times a day.

Makeup can be applied 12-24 hours post-procedure, but it is best to use gentle, non-irritating products. Sun exposure should be avoided for at least two weeks, as the treated skin will be more sensitive. Always use SPF 30+ to protect and maintain results. If prolonged irritation or discomfort occurs beyond 24 hours, contact your treatment provider.
